Princess Preparations

Geeze Louise, that expo was an effing MAD HOUSE!

I guess that’s what I get for not arriving until 3:00pm the day before the race.

I had an easy start to the day since I didn’t have to do a long run – meaning I slept until almost 9am while Ryan was getting in his miles for the day! 

To make sure I took everything I’d need for the race, I laid everything out on the bed as I went through a mental check list that started at my feet and ended with my hat.

Then I tossed it all into a separate “race bag”. As long as that bag made it into the car I’d be sure I had everything I could possibly need for 13.1!

Next up was everything I’d need for the rest of the weekend

That pile may or may not include more than 6 tops.  For a 2-night trip. But it all fit and I even had space for my laptop!

We got on the road around 1:00 and headed straight to the expo where I found out that I really AM a princess!

I was a little overwhelmed at the Expo – lots of people just wandering around without paying attention to who was around them.  Not really my idea of fun.

But I did get super excited about one booth:

Gosh I hope I am one of the lucky ones that gets in before registration closes!

After about 15 minutes I had had enough & we headed through the “official merchandise” section to get out of the expo.  I may or may not have picked up a Princess Half Marathon wine glass instead of a tiara.  And lets not forget the race shirt that ACTUALLY FITS!  (That’s a BIG WIN in my book!)

And with that, it’s time to go get some food.  I’ve got a 3:00 wakeup call tomorrow morning!
